CHRISTMAS DINNER 2013

Many classes have organized a group Christmas dinner with their teacher in the week preceding the Holidays. Some classes decided to share a meal together at the restaurant. Two classes joined the funds received from the CABC and organized a potluck style dinner. The menu: traditional Quebecois "cipâte" , rice salad, veggies and a mountain of desserts. Everyone really enjoyed the meal! The festive meal ended with a few songs accompanied by a learner playing guitar.

EARTH-FRIENDLY CHRISTMAS TREE CONTEST

All through December 2013, the CCNB held a contest in which classes had to design and decorate an earth-friendly Christmas tree. Some of the Chaleur Adult Learning classes participated, and Dianne Landry's class Apprentis-Sage earned the first prize, an allowance of $200, with its super-original tree made entirely of things that were otherwise destined to the trash can.

Congratulations to all participants!

CANADA'S ECONOMIC ACTION PLAN YOUTH INTERNSHIP

A few times a year, Chaleur Adult Learning receives a young intern subsidized by the Youth Employment Strategy program.

The young intern thus develops skills and experience to facilitate his or her integration in the workforce. This paid position of administrative assistant is usually a contract of 12 weeks.
